What We Do
Advocacy
Tackling the climate crisis requires systemic solutions. That’s why we champion policies at all levels of government that will implement solutions at the scale this moment demands.

Youth Advocacy
Today’s young people, and future generations, will bear the weight of the challenges we leave for them. This makes them particularly powerful ambassadors for our climate. The genCLEO youth movement, designed to engage and empower young leaders, has chapters on a dozen college campuses and continues to grow.
genCLEO members engage on policy issues throughout the year and across all levels of government. From state representatives to city council meetings, young people connect with decision-makers and advocate for the future they want.

Get Out the Vote
Your vote is your voice, but too often there is low turnout in crucial local and statewide elections. Elections are an incredible opportunity for everyone to let our governments know what matters to us. CLEO supports civic engagement (regardless of who you’re planning to vote for) through voter registration drives, distribution of vote-by-mail forms, and election reminders.

Online Action
Believe it or not, your elected representatives notice when they hear from you. The CLEO Institute keeps track of policy issues and offers draft messages, so you can share your thoughts with just a few clicks.
