Welcome to genCLEO – The CLEO Institute’s Youth Movement
The CLEO Institute, through our genCLEO Youth Movement, helps youth understand the science and urgency of the climate crisis, its impacts, and solutions – but it doesn’t stop there. genCLEO prepares and empowers young people to advocate for climate action and policy.
Are you a high school or college/university student? We hope you will join us and make friends and allies as we find our voices and use them for the greater good.
What You’ll Gain
Our state, nation, and world are increasingly unsettled by dangerous and destabilizing climate impacts, and we need your help to protect our common home. For many people, the climate crisis is a ‘future’ problem. At CLEO, we help students connect the dots and understand the science and urgency of climate impacts, so that you feel prepared and empowered to advocate for climate action and policy. genCLEO offers members many opportunities for leadership and growth, from media and communication trainings to civic leadership and activism. We recognize that every student has a unique history and contributes special skills and talents to the group. Join us and add your unique voice to this movement.
genCLEO Wins
Our genCLEO chapters each focus on a local campaign to advocate for climate action in their communities. Here are a few of our major wins:
- In March 2025, we brought nearly 400 young Floridians to the Capitol and had 80 meetings with legislators on climate policy
